Privacy policy

FTCC takes care of its members' personal data and follows the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This page explains what the website keeps, why, who sees it and your rights.
Who is responsible
The FTCC club, represented by its administrator Jeremy Nicolas.
Contact: a message to the club administrators on Messenger, through the FTCC Facebook group (see the Help page).
What we keep
- Account: email address, password (stored encrypted, nobody can read it), two-step sign-in settings.
- Member details: first and last name, nickname (Facebook name), postal address and country, member number and OM code.
- Collecting preferences: themes, wishes, countries collected, envelope format.
- Club activity: chains created and received, dates, reception codes, participation credits, tier, badges, pauses, status (probation, active, inactive), block requests.
- Technical data: when you last used the website, and a log of sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts and password reset requests with the address (IP) they came from. It helps us protect accounts and help members who cannot sign in.
Why
- To run the chains: you joined the club to exchange covers, and the website needs your address and preferences for that.
- To keep the club fair and safe: credits, probation, stalled chains, blocks, protection of accounts against misuse.
- To send you the emails the website needs: confirming your address, resetting your password, account approval.
We never sell your data, never use it for advertising and never send newsletters through the website.
Who sees what
- Other members see your name, nickname, member number, country, collecting preferences, and your badges if you chose to show them. They never see your email address.
- Your full postal address is shown only to the member who must mail you a chain, and only for that chain.
- Club administrators see all member data, to run the club and help members.
- Service providers process data on the club's behalf only: Render (hosting, servers in Frankfurt, Germany), Cloudflare (security and delivery of the pages) and Brevo (sending emails, France). Render and Cloudflare are American companies; transfers outside Europe are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long
We keep your data while you are a member. When you leave or ask for your account to be closed, we delete your account and personal details; your name may stay in the history of past chains only as your member number, so that other members' chain records remain correct. Sign-in logs are kept for security and help, for at most one year.
Cookies
The website only uses the cookies it needs to work: keeping you signed in, protecting forms against misuse, and Cloudflare's security cookies. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no audience statistics, so no consent banner is needed.
Your rights
You can see and correct most of your data yourself in My profile. You may also ask the administrators to give you a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. We answer within one month.
If you think your data is not handled properly, you may complain to your country's data protection authority (in France, the CNIL, cnil.fr).
